Game Changer Movie Review

Cover Image

If this film had been released before Indian 2, it might have generated some expectations. However, after watching it, there isn’t much excitement left, and there likely won’t be for the next film either. This is a very average Telugu movie, and Bharath Ennum Naan was far superior. Even in terms of acting, Ram Charan’s performance here lacks the expressions Mahesh Babu delivered in Bharath Ennum Naan. The film’s overuse of bright colors felt like a Nippon Paint ad and strongly resembled the color palette of Viswasam.

SJ Suryah was the standout and brought some fun to the movie, making it worth sitting through. Jayaram’s comedic role was a pleasant surprise, and he seemed to perform better than in Ponniyin Selvan. His portrayal felt reminiscent of his character from Panchathanthiram. However, the inclusion of a side character who walks sideways, supposedly for comic relief, felt unnecessary and lacked any payoff.

The flashback portions and the mother-son sentiment, while fitting in the narrative, failed to be engaging. This film doesn’t come close to the director’s previous works. Scenes like the drone sequence, which were intended to be high points, came off as unintentionally funny and impractical.

This movie is best enjoyed with friends when you’re bored and looking for something to laugh at rather than take seriously.
